About me

Hi! I’m Cam. It’s taken me a really long time to get here. But, here I am. I’ve had many different paths in life that finally have me settled down as a wife and mother. I couldn’t be happier.

I grew up in a small town, eager to get out. Not long after college, I found myself interviewing to be a flight attendant. Those were some of the best years of my life. Then, September 11, 2001 hit. For a lot of people, that day changed lives. I didn’t really want to be away from home anymore, nor did I want to fly anymore. I needed to figure out what it was that I really wanted to do. I did what most people do when they don’t know what to do, went back to school. School changed a lot in those ten years. This is where I learned about Google and rediscovered my first real crush.

Doug and I met in college, but we never dated. I wanted to date him, but he didn’t even know I existed. It’s that simple. Fast forward ten years, and he finally agrees to have coffee with me in San Francisco. I must of caught him on a good day. Here we are coming upon our five year wedding anniversary, and we also have a beautiful daughter now.

We’ve had a lot of ups and downs. Doug is an awesome designer. Because of this, we’ve ended up here in San Francisco where he works for Twitter. I’m a stay-at-home mom. I’ve also been spending the last couple years writing and shopping smartly over at FrugalDay.com. I’ve put a lot of time and energy into that site. But I feel it’s time to pay attention to what’s going on right in front of me.

NoThankYouPlease came from our daughter. I guess she feels that by saying “no” and “please” in the same sentence she can get away with anything. She pretty much does. I spend my days trying to find the balance between laughter and tears. But most importantly, I don’t want to miss another moment with her.
